The Jambi Provincial Government is committed to guarding the balance between natural resource exploitation and environmental preservation. This was emphasized by the Regional Secretary of Jambi Province, Sudirman, while attending the 2026 Jambi Province Business Economic Forum held at Swiss-Belhotel Jambi on Thursday (23/7/2026).

The strategic forum initiated by the Representative Office of Bank Indonesia (BI) of Jambi Province carried an important theme regarding the prospects of the regional energy sector. Discussions focused on the policy direction of the coal Work Plan and Budget (RKAB), optimization of oil and gas lifting targets, and their implications for the regional economy.

In his presentation, Sudirman emphasized that steps to increase regional income through the optimization of mining and energy commodities must be accompanied by strict mitigation of environmental impacts. His party hopes that this collaborative forum, which brings together academics, business actors, banking, and policymakers, can produce concrete innovations to suppress potential ecological damage.

On the other hand, the Jambi Provincial Government remains optimistic about the regional economic performance in the third quarter of 2026. Although the inflation rate was recorded at 3.85 percent and economic growth was in the range of over four percent, cross-sector collaboration is believed to be able to maintain stability and spur more inclusive growth.

Meanwhile, the Head of the BI Representative Office for Jambi Province, Robby Fathir Nashary, explained that this activity was designed to align perceptions and formulate solutions to current global and regional economic challenges. Through the resulting recommendations, BI hopes that fiscal and monetary policies at the regional level can be more integrated for the welfare of the community.
