Traffic congestion is no longer the only issue faced by drivers in Indonesia's major cities. New problems often arise upon reaching the destination, ranging from long queues at the entrance, difficulty finding vacant slots, tight maneuvering space, to trouble remembering where the vehicle is parked.
Addressing these challenges, automotive manufacturer Jaecoo has introduced a cutting-edge innovation called Super Intelligent Valet Parking (SIVP). This smart driving technology carries the slogan "Come to You, Park for You", designed specifically to simplify the parking process so that it runs automatically, practically, and efficiently without wasting the driver's time.
According to the Head of Marketing for Jaecoo Indonesia, Mohamad Ilham Pratama, the focus of the automotive industry has shifted. It is no longer just about engine performance and driving safety, but also the practicality of the users' daily activities. The presence of SIVP is expected to be a concrete solution to increasingly complex urban parking problems.
Based on data from Fortune Business Insights, the global adoption of smart parking technology based on sensors, cameras, and digital navigation can cut parking space search times by 45 to 55 percent. In addition to saving time, this system is also effective in easing traffic congestion inside parking structures.
In the domestic market, discussions about this technology arose after an amateur video went viral showing a Jaecoo J7 SHS-P SIVP unit performing automatic parking at a shopping center in Jakarta. The vehicle moved autonomously with no driver behind the wheel, sparking great enthusiasm among local automotive enthusiasts. Jaecoo is scheduled to demonstrate the sophistication of this technology live at the upcoming GIIAS 2026 event.
