The 2026 North Sumatra Fair (PRSU) has once again proven its existence as the largest folk festival in North Sumatra. Entering its eighth day, as many as 10,000 visitors packed the main concert area despite unforgiving weather caused by heavy rain soaking the venue since Saturday night (11/7/2026).
The audience's enthusiasm did not fade when musicians Raim Laode and Nufix took the stage. Instead, spectators seemed immersed in the atmosphere, singing along and capturing moments under the pouring rain. Raim Laode himself admitted to being impressed by the loyalty of Medan residents who stayed to watch his performance until the end of the show.
Behind the concert's excitement, PRSU 2026 also served as a stage for regional talent. One of them was a contemporary dance troupe from Padang Lawas Regency who took a 12-hour land journey to showcase their region's rich culture. The dancers' struggle reflects a great spirit amid the limited facilities and funds in their home region.
A representative of the dance troupe expressed hope that their presence at PRSU 2026 would open the eyes of the public and relevant parties to the artistic potential of local youth. They are striving hard to ensure ancestral traditions remain preserved and widely recognized through larger platforms.
The presence of thousands of spectators and the dedication of participants from various regencies confirm that PRSU 2026 is not merely an entertainment stage.
