Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) together with Arsari Group officially announced the establishment of PT Infra Fiber Teknologi (IFT). The company is projected to become an independent digital infrastructure pillar implementing an open access model to foster equitable internet connectivity across the nation.
The inauguration of IFT on Thursday (2/7/2026) marks a new chapter in the strategic collaboration between the two parties. As an independent entity, IFT will manage over 86,000 kilometers of fiber optic network, spanning national backbone infrastructure to submarine cables, as well as local access networks. This massive infrastructure is now accessible to various parties, ranging from telecommunications operators to hyperscaler businesses.
This move is an implementation of an investment agreement initiated since December 2025. Through this restructuring, Indosat and PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta transferred ownership of their assets to PT Nusantara Fiber Teknologi (NFT), an investment platform owned by Arsari Group. Indosat itself secured fresh funds of around IDR 11.7 trillion from the transaction, which will be reallocated to strengthen core business expansion, 5G technology development, and artificial intelligence (AI) supporting infrastructure.
Deputy CEO & COO of Arsari Group, Aryo P.S. Djojohadikusumo, emphasized that this infrastructure development is not merely a technical matter, but a vital step in creating fair access for the public. According to him, national competitiveness heavily relies on the ability of all society layers to connect to an inclusive digital economy.
Echoing this sentiment, President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Vikram Sinha, stated that the presence of IFT is a tangible realization of the company's commitment to empowering people through technology. With an open access system, it is hoped that services such as cloud and AI can reach areas that previously faced connection limitations.
Currently, IFT's network coverage spans 45 percent of Java Island and 55 percent of other regions in Indonesia. President Director of PT Infra Fiber Teknologi, Hendry Syam, committed that the company's main focus moving forward is to target areas that are not yet optimally served, in order to evenly strengthen the national digital ecosystem.
