The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), through the Kadin Indonesia Institute (KII), now views the health sector not merely as a public service aspect, but as a crucial new engine of economic growth for Indonesia. Through the launch of a strategic document titled "Health is the New Wealth", Kadin aims to encourage the flow of investment in the health sector to create a multiplier effect in the form of job creation and increased national innovation.

Shinta, a representative of Kadin, emphasized that countries with resilient health systems are proven to have higher labor productivity and more stable economic resilience. According to her, Indonesia is at a crucial juncture to optimize this sector, especially given the demographic dividend and the increasing demand for healthcare services in line with the ongoing transformation of the national health system.

The investment in question is not limited to the construction of physical infrastructure such as hospitals or pharmaceutical manufacturing, but encompasses a wider, integrated health ecosystem. Investment in this sector is projected to improve the quality of human resources while strengthening the position of national industries in the global competitive landscape, so that health can be viewed as a productive asset rather than a state expenditure burden.

The "Health is the New Wealth" document was prepared as a roadmap for collaboration between the government and the private sector to refine the investment climate and simplify existing regulations. This step is expected to accelerate the development of the domestic health industry so that Indonesia does not only become a consumer, but also a major player in the regional health market.

Cross-sector synergy is considered the key to achieving national health transformation targets. Shinta emphasized that the government and the business community need to work hand-in-hand so that the investments made are not only oriented towards economic benefits, but also have a tangible impact on improving the overall quality of public health.
