The Aceh Tamiang Regency Government received medical equipment assistance from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia on Wednesday (8/7/2026). The handover of this assistance took place in the hall of the local Health Office as a strategic effort to restore medical service operations that were temporarily paralyzed due to a hydrometeorological disaster in November 2025.
Director of Health Surveillance and Quarantine at the Indonesian Ministry of Health, dr. Sumarjaya, personally handed over the assistance to the Head of the Aceh Tamiang Regency Health Office. Later, this medical equipment will be distributed to six affected health centers (Puskesmas), namely Karang Baru, Bandar Pusaka, Kota Kualasimpang, Banda Mulia, Tamiang Hulu, and Sekerak District.
Regent of Aceh Tamiang, Retired Police Inspector General Drs. Armia Pahmi, MH, expressed appreciation for the central government's swift response. According to him, this assistance serves as tangible proof of the state's presence in ensuring the public's right to health, especially after health service facilities in his area suffered damage and lost vital inventory due to last year's floods.
The assistance provided includes various medical support equipment, such as five digital blood pressure monitor units, anthropometry sets, sterilizers, patient beds, stethoscopes, and six dental units. This support complements previous assistance in the form of medical personnel, logistics, and ambulances.
In his directives, Regent Armia Pahmi emphasized the importance of optimal management of the assistance to improve the quality of service to the community. He also expressed hope that efforts to rehabilitate health facilities, including Auxiliary Community Health Centers (Pustu), can continue to ensure public health access returns to normal and comprehensive.
The handover ceremony was also attended by the Aceh Tamiang Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), including the Chairman of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPR-K), the Head of the District Attorney's Office (Kajari), representatives from Military District Command 0117 (Kodim), the Police Office (Polres), as well as several heads of regional apparatus organizations (OPD) and related medical personnel.
