PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to strengthen its role in supporting the growth and development of the younger generation through a series of Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) programs. This concrete step targets the education, health, and child nutrition sectors in the company's operational areas, which include the provinces of Bangka Belitung Islands, Riau Islands, and Riau.
PT Timah's Head of Corporate Communications Division, Anggi Siahaan, explained that this contribution is aimed at fostering a healthy, smart, and inclusive generation to welcome Golden Indonesia 2045. In its implementation, this state-owned enterprise (SOE) actively collaborates with local governments, educational institutions, and local community groups to deliver a sustainable positive impact.
In the education sector, PT Timah's support is realized through assistance for facilities and infrastructure for early childhood education, such as that received by Mutiara Hati Private Kindergarten in Karimun Regency and Nusa Indah PAUD (early childhood center) in Central Bangka. In addition, PT Timah's flagship Scholarship Class program at SMAN 1 Pemali, which has been running since 2000, has successfully produced more than 900 high-achieving alumni.
Efforts to create inclusive education are also accommodated through seminars for children with special needs in several Special Needs Schools (SLB) in Central Bangka and Bangka. Beyond theory, practical training such as eco-print batik making was also held for students and teachers at Mentok State SLB to equip them with ready-to-use vocational skills upon graduation.
Meanwhile, in the health sector, PT Timah initiated the Movement to Reduce Stunting (Kemunting). This program focuses on nutritional education and providing supplementary food through collaboration with the Indonesian Breastfeeding Mothers Association (AIMI) of Bangka Belitung, village midwives, and posyandu (integrated health post) cadres in various regions, including intensive training for health cadres in Sungai Selan.
Strategic collaboration was also established with the BKKBN (National Population and Family Planning Board) through the Genting and Taman Asuh Sayang Anak (Tamasya) programs in the Bangka Belitung Islands and Riau Islands regions. To facilitate access to medical services for children in remote areas, the mining issuer also deploys its Mobil Sehat (Healthy Clinic Mobile) units and provides continuous medical funding assistance.
