Lebak Regency successfully held the prestigious KORPRI RUNK5BITUNG RUN 2026 running event, centered at Alun-Alun Rangkasbitung on Sunday (2/8/2026). The excellent collaboration between the Lebak Regency KORPRI Executive Board, the National KORPRI Executive Board, and the Lebak Runners Community successfully attracted high enthusiasm from thousands of participants from various regions across the country.

Seeing this success, the Regent of Lebak, Mochamad Hasbi Asyidiki Jayabaya, pushed for this event to be upgraded to an annual national-scale sports agenda. In his remarks during the prize presentation, Hasbi proposed increasing the route distance and raising the participation target for next year's event.

"If this year the route is 5 kilometers, next year we will increase it to at least 7.5 kilometers. We also target a minimum of 2,000 participants with the hope that the General Chair of KORPRI, Prof. Zudan, can attend in person," said the optimistic Regent of Lebak.

In addition to being a venue for athletic achievement, RUNK5BITUNG was designed as a space for social interaction without barriers between the government, civil servants (ASN), communities, and the wider public. The momentum of participants gathering from outside Banten Province, ranging from North Sumatra (Tapanuli) to South Sulawesi, was also utilized as a strategic means to promote Lebak's tourism, culture, and creative economy products.

Regional Secretary and Chairman of the Lebak Regency KORPRI, Halson Nainggolan, explained that 1,620 participants registered for the event, with 1,532 of them having collected their race packs. The competition also opened opportunities for the younger generation through the Kids Dash category, which was joined by 113 young runners.

This year's edition also made new history with the breaking of the fastest record in the 5K category, which was 14 minutes 36 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 15 minutes 22 seconds. The excitement along the race route was further enlivened by the presence of 22 cheering groups that continuously injected spirit into the runners until they crossed the finish line to compete for a total prize of IDR 125 million.
