Festivities filled Madiun City on Thursday (25/6) evening as the Madiun Spektra Carnival was held to commemorate the city's 108th anniversary. Thousands of residents crowded the event venue to watch the art and cultural parade featuring the dedication and creativity of 30 participating teams, ranging from government agencies, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), banks, to private sectors.

Acting Mayor of Madiun, F. Bagus Panuntun, expressed high appreciation for the success of the event. For him, this carnival is not just an entertainment stage, but a space to nurture unity and community pride. He committed to continuing the Madiun Spektra Carnival in the future with fresher concept innovations to continuously increase its appeal to tourists.

The presence of this carnival is recognized to have a significant economic impact on the community. The circulation of money from the preparation period to the peak of the event brought blessings to various service sectors, from costume rentals, makeup artists, float decorations, to the culinary sector. MSME stalls also felt the rapidly growing economic activity during the event.

This year's parade presented an excellent historical narrative, one of which highlighted the story of the legendary figure Retno Dumilah, presented in a scene-by-scene visual display. In the future, the Madiun City Government plans to package these local art and cultural elements on a larger scale to strengthen the identity and appeal of Madiun City as a dynamic tourist destination.
