The internet has been abuzz with a video of a confrontation against a security officer at the Gunung Jati Regional Hospital (RSD) in Cirebon City. The rogue officer, identified as Sembiring, allegedly committed fraud under the guise of recruiting healthcare workers, causing the victim to lose tens of millions of rupiah.
Based on a video widely circulating on TikTok, a woman can be seen confronting the perpetrator regarding the IDR 65 million she had handed over. The victim demanded the promised job at the local government-owned hospital, as she has not yet been called to work.
In the recording, the perpetrator claimed that most of the money, amounting to IDR 50 million, had been handed over to one of the Deputy Directors of RSD Gunung Jati, while he only kept IDR 15 million. The disappointed victim urged for her money to be returned in full. The case was reportedly reported to the Cirebon City Police last year, but the legal process is deemed to be moving slowly.
In response to the viral video, the management of RSD Gunung Jati immediately issued an official clarification. The hospital emphasized that it had taken decisive action by officially dismissing the security guard, effective August 4.
Furthermore, the hospital strongly denied allegations involving one of their deputy directors in the case. The management stated that the fraudulent actions committed by the perpetrator were purely personal and outside the authority and responsibility of the institution, and left the resolution of all legal matters and financial losses to the police process.
