Welcoming the crucial quarter-final phase of the 2026 World Cup, the Jambi City Government has taken the initiative to host a large-scale public viewing (nobar) event for the community. In collaboration with TVRI, the series of events will be centered at the iconic Tugu Keris Siginjai area on July 11 and 12, 2026.
Spokesperson for the Jambi City Administration, Saleh Ridha, stated that this step was taken to provide an inclusive public space while strengthening ties among residents. The public can enjoy live broadcasts of the matches free of charge. In addition to showcasing world-class football matches, the committee has also prepared supporting entertainment, such as performances by local music groups, interactive games, and door prizes.
Beyond the excitement of the football festival, the Jambi City Government has a strategic mission to drive the regional economy. The public viewing area will accommodate Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to market their culinary products. It is hoped that the large crowd will have a tangible economic impact on local vendors.
The match broadcast schedule at Tugu Keris Siginjai includes a fierce clash between Spain and Belgium on Saturday (11/7) at 01:00 WIB, followed by Norway vs. England on Sunday (12/7) at 03:00 WIB, and Argentina vs. Switzerland at 07:00 WIB on the same day. The entire event series is scheduled to be attended directly by the Jambi City Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).
Furthermore, Saleh assured that public enthusiasm will continue to be accommodated through the semi-finals scheduled for July 15–16, 2026, up to the final match. The Jambi City Government is committed to leveraging this international sporting momentum as beneficial entertainment and a driver for sustainable local economic growth.
