Hundreds of running enthusiasts gathered at the Magetan Square (Alun-Alun) on Sunday morning (2/8/2026) to participate in the PKB Festival Run 2026. The 5-kilometer fun run was organized by the Branch Leadership Council (DPC) of the National Awakening Party (PKB) of Magetan Regency as the opening event for the party's 28th anniversary celebrations.
The start flag was waved directly by the Regent of Magetan, Nanik Sumantri, accompanied by the Chairman of DPC PKB Magetan, Deny Mahmud Fauzi, from the front of the Surya Graha Pendopo. Participants followed an urban route crossing several key locations in Magetan, starting from the Health Office, SMAN 1 Magetan, the Plaza Ndoyo area, Getuk Diana, Hotel Imelda, Bank BRI, the Baitussalam Grand Mosque, and ending back at the starting point.
The Chairman of DPC PKB Magetan, Deny Mahmud Fauzi, explained that this activity was designed as a positive venue for fostering relations with the community. Through a sports and entertainment approach, PKB wants to demonstrate its close presence in the daily lives of citizens, rather than just during formal political moments.
Similar appreciation was expressed by the Regent of Magetan, Nanik Sumantri. She emphasized that such mass activities not only promote an active and healthy lifestyle for citizens but also provide a real stimulus to the local economy, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) trading around the event venue. The local government hopes that similar events can become a consistent annual agenda.
