Global cybersecurity company Fortinet has officially carried out a strategic shake-up in its leadership ranks by appointing Luca Simonelli as Senior Vice President (SVP) for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This decision was made as a concrete step by the company to capture the rapid growth momentum in the regional market, along with the acceleration of digital transformation and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across various industrial sectors.
Based in Singapore, Simonelli will take full control of sales operations in the region covering Japan, North Asia, Southeast Asia, India, the SAARC region, as well as Australia and New Zealand. His primary responsibilities include strengthening regional strategy and maintaining sustainable business growth through closer synergy with partners and customers in Asia-Pacific.
Fortinet's Executive Vice President of International Sales, Joe Sarno, emphasized that Simonelli's three decades of experience in the technology industry is a valuable asset. Simonelli, who previously successfully led Fortinet's operations in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region, is considered to have a proven track record in building high-performing teams and understanding the complexities of modern cybersecurity infrastructure.
In his response, Simonelli expressed optimism regarding the company's future in Asia-Pacific. He highlighted the role of Fortinet's integrated security platform, which combines networking, cybersecurity, and AI capabilities as a key foundation in helping organizations reduce technical complexity.
