Bank Mandiri Taspen is taking a strategic step in transforming its business model by expanding the reach of its services to people aged 40 and above, or the '40 Plus' segment. This policy was adopted in an effort to strengthen business performance while supporting the company's target to upgrade to Tier 3 Bank Group Based on Core Capital (KBMI 3) by 2028.
Head of Strategic & Performance Management Department at Bank Mandiri Taspen, Agus Syaiful Anwar, explained that until now, the company's loan portfolio has been dominated by the pensioner segment, which accounts for around 99 percent of total financing. Through this new strategy, the company wants to build earlier relationships with potential customers before they enter retirement.
Agus emphasized that this approach aims to help people become more financially, mentally, and productively prepared before retirement arrives. By engaging early, Bank Mandiri Taspen is committed to accompanying customers while they are still actively working, ensuring that the transition into retirement can be planned more effectively.
Furthermore, he stressed that expanding into this segment does not mean the company is abandoning its main focus on pensioner customers. On the contrary, this pro-active approach is designed to ensure that the 40 Plus generation maintains financial independence and good health when they eventually enter retirement.
In implementing this strategy, Bank Mandiri Taspen has begun offering various investment solutions, financial education assistance, and entrepreneurship programs. These initiatives are designed to keep customers active and productive even after completing their professional careers.
