PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) has officially transformed its business strategy in the West Java region. No longer relying solely on housing finance, the state-owned bank is now targeting a broader business ecosystem, ranging from industrial estates to the hotel, restaurant, and cafe (HoReCa) sector.
BTN West Java Regional Office Head, Asvianti Handaru, revealed that this step was taken as West Java serves as a main growth engine for the company's economy. Although known as a housing specialist bank connected to over 160 derivative industries, BTN now chooses to be present throughout its customers' entire economic cycle.
BTN's operational strategy in the field is divided into two main zones based on regional characteristics. For the West Java 1 area, covering Greater Bekasi to Karawang, the company focuses its services on the needs of industrial estates. Meanwhile, for the West Java 2 area, which spans Greater Bandung to Cirebon, BTN emphasizes support for the tourism and HoReCa sectors.
Asvianti added that this approach is not merely about offering credit products, but building an integrated financial services ecosystem. This encompasses all customer needs, from financing facilities and transaction convenience to corporate operational financial management.
With a strong position among the top five credit lenders in West Java and as a market leader in government-subsidized mortgage (KPR) programs, BTN is optimistic about increasing transaction frequency among its currently around two million customers. Additionally, the company is committed to continuing to drive credit distribution to productive sectors, including MSMEs and small and medium-sized industries (SMIs), to strengthen customer loyalty within the BTN ecosystem.
