The BRI Jazz Gunung Bromo 2026 event once again presented its magical charm through a special session titled "Before Sunset". Located at the Jiwa Jawa Resort Amphitheater, Probolinggo Regency, East Java, the event offered captivating jazz harmonies just before sunset. Even though the air temperature in the mountainous area dropped to 14 degrees Celsius, the cold weather did not dampen the enthusiasm of music lovers who packed the stands.
The excitement of the first day opened sweetly with a performance by local talent, Bromo Jazz Camp. The serene atmosphere grew stronger when the Taiwanese music group, Plutato, collaborating with Cait Lin, took the stage. Despite performing a repertoire in foreign languages—such as the songs "Syzygy", "Colours in the Sky", and "Fresh Air"—their performance still blended perfectly with the majestic natural landscape of Bromo.
For Cait Lin, the vocalist, the opportunity to perform at this prestigious event was a very memorable experience. She expressed her joy at being able to greet jazz lovers in Bromo directly, after previously visiting several iconic destinations in Indonesia, including Jakarta, Bandung, and Bali.
As evening fell, the "Before Sunset" stage became even livelier with the presence of soloist Bilal Indrajaya. The singer, known for his distinctive voice, was immediately welcomed by cheers from the audience. Performing a series of his hits such as "Mustahil", "Saujana", and "Niscaya", Bilal successfully led the audience to sing along, creating a warm moment amidst the mountain mist.
After the show, Bilal expressed his admiration for the concert atmosphere, which felt both intimate and orderly. He hoped that this music festival would consistently be held every year as a space for regeneration for local musicians. This opening event served as an ideal warm-up before entering the main concert, which is expected to continue boosting the region's tourism and creative economy sectors.
