A joint team consisting of the police, military (TNI), and public order agency (Satpol PP) conducted a large-scale raid on several nightlife venues in Garut Regency, West Java, on Saturday night (1/8/2026). This step was taken to suppress social ills while maintaining public security and order (kamtibmas) in the region.
The large-scale operation, which started at 11:00 PM WIB, is part of the Enhanced Routine Police Activities (KRYD). Led directly by the Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Garut Resort Police, AKP Usep Sudirman, joint officers immediately combed through several nightlife spots to inspect the identity and belongings of the visitors.
This public space control involved strong cross-sectoral synergy. In addition to personnel from the Narcotics Investigation Unit and the Propam Section of the Garut Police, the operation was also reinforced by personnel from the 0611 Military District Command (Kodim), the Garut Military Police Detachment (Denpom), and the Garut Regency Satpol PP.
During the intensive inspection, officers conducted random on-site urine tests. As a result, two visitors tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine. Both were immediately detained for further investigation, while officers also seized at least 30 bottles of illegal alcoholic beverages as evidence.
The Head of the Garut Police Narcotics Unit, AKP Usep Sudirman, emphasized that similar raids will continue to be carried out periodically. These preventive and repressive efforts are expected to minimize the illicit trafficking of drugs and liquor to create a safe and conducive social environment for the people of Garut.
