State-owned mining enterprise PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk organized a free health check-up program for communities in its operational areas. This social initiative is part of the Service Month (Bulan Bakti) event series welcoming the company's 50th Anniversary on August 2, 2026.
Residents showed high enthusiasm as they packed the social service location at the PT Timah Toboali Office, South Bangka Regency, on Thursday (30/7/2026). According to the organizers' data, as many as 145 local residents took this opportunity to check their physical condition and consult directly with the medical team.
The Head of Toboali Sub-district, Nadi Martika, expressed deep appreciation for this initiative. According to him, the free medical treatment program greatly eases the economic burden on residents who struggle to access medical services due to financial constraints. Nadi also praised the consistency of PT Timah in continuing to collaborate with the South Bangka Regency Government in running social community programs.
Desi (31), a resident of Bager Sub-district, Toboali, said she felt helped by this program. She received information from a relative and immediately rushed to the location. For her, the activity not only lightened the burden of medical costs but also provided important education on self-health care from an early age.
A similar sentiment was shared by Ritania (39), a resident of Batu Perahu who came with complaints of dizziness. In addition to receiving a blood pressure check and consulting with a doctor, she also received advice on improving her lifestyle and managing her food intake. This direct education serves as additional motivation for residents to care more about their daily physical health.
