The committee of the Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) of Jember Regency for the 2025–2030 term was officially inaugurated at the Wahyawibawagraha Pavilion on Monday (27/7/2026). A total of 25 new committee members were directly inaugurated by the Acting General Chairperson of East Java KORMI, Debi Sisilia Samoa, marking the beginning of a new era of cultivating recreational sports in the region.

The Chairperson of Jember Regency KORMI, Tri Basuki, expressed appreciation for the trust given as well as the support from the Jember Regency Government and various elements of society. He emphasized the new committee's commitment to extending the reach of recreational sports to remote areas by designing sports village programs.

In addition to targeting the formation of sports villages, Jember KORMI is also encouraging every sub-district to have a routine sports agenda. This step will be reinforced through collaboration with MSME actors, as well as the utilization of information technology and social media to promote a healthy lifestyle more massively to the wider public.

Meanwhile, the Acting Chairperson of East Java KORMI, Debi Sisilia Samoa, reminded that this inauguration is a crucial momentum to align regional programs with the Active Indonesia Movement at the national level. She requested the new committee to actively embrace the Parent Sports Organizations (INORGA) and strengthen cooperation with the local government.

The Regent of Jember, Gus Fawait, welcomed the inauguration and confirmed the readiness of the local government to build synergy. He hoped that the programs run by KORMI would not merely be ceremonial but must be based on scientific data in order to provide a concrete impact on public health, sporting achievement, and local economic recovery.
