In order to welcome the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the Directorate of Samapta (Ditsamapta) of the Riau Islands Regional Police (Polda Kepri) held a social action and mutual cooperation (gotong-royong) with the residents of Kampung Tua Batu Merah, Tanjung Sengkuang, Batam City on Sunday (2/8/2026). This activity is a tangible manifestation of the police's humanist approach to drawing closer to the community.

The series of activities, led directly by the Director of Samapta of the Riau Islands Police, Police Commissioner Budi Setiyono, was centered in the RW 05 area of Kampung Tua Batu Merah. The presence of the police officers was warmly welcomed by the Head of RW 05, Yadi Suryadi, and local residents who enthusiastically participated in the environmental cleanup since the morning.

In addition to community service to clean up the residential area, the Ditsamapta of the Riau Islands Police also distributed hundreds of basic food packages to ease the economic burden of the residents. To ignite the spirit of nationalism in welcoming the month of independence, the police also handed over hundreds of Red and White flags to be flown in the residential area.

Police Commissioner Budi Setiyono emphasized that the momentum of independence must be utilized to strengthen togetherness and partnership between the National Police (Polri) and the community. This step is in line with the "Polri Presisi" principle, which prioritizes direct presence and solutions in the field.

Appreciation for this collaboration was also conveyed by the Chief of the Riau Islands Regional Police, Inspector General Asep Safrudin. He emphasized the importance of maintaining unity and the spirit of mutual cooperation to create a safe, peaceful, and conducive public security and order (kamtibmas) situation in the Riau Islands region.
