Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has officially introduced its latest generation of smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9. Through these two premium wearable devices, Samsung is committed to shifting the public health care paradigm from reactive to more proactive and personalized through the integration of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
TM Roh, President and Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics, explained that the presence of the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 is a tangible step by the company to support the global health transition. These smartwatches do not merely measure body metrics, but instead process daily biometric data into practical health guidance and provide periodic, real-time notifications directly from the user's wrist.
As the top-tier model, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is specifically designed to accommodate the needs of extreme sports and outdoor adventures. Featuring a rugged titanium casing that is now 12 percent slimmer than its predecessor, this device offers high durability and premium comfort for all-day wear. It is powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite Platform, paired with a large 800 mAh battery capacity and a Super AMOLED display with a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits, making it the brightest screen for optimal visibility under direct sunlight.
Outdoor adventure enthusiasts can utilize the Trail Run feature to track terrain elevation in detail to reduce the risk of injury. In addition, the Nutrition Alert feature complements the Sweat Loss indicator by providing real-time hydration guidance. The watch is also ready for professional-depth diving up to professional levels thanks to IP69K, 10 ATM, and EN13319 dive standard certifications, supported by the Ultra2 Diving app developed in collaboration with leading dive equipment manufacturer, Mares.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch9 arrives as an elegant daily health companion with a lightweight aluminum casing. Designed for 24-hour wearing comfort, this model focuses on sleep quality monitoring and forming healthy living habits. Powered by the same chipset, the Galaxy Watch9 is equipped with an efficient battery and an advanced display with a brightness of up to 3,000 nits to ensure readability under various lighting conditions.
Both smartwatches are equipped with the latest generation BioActive sensor that continuously scans user biometric data. The internal AI algorithm then processes this complex data to provide a comprehensive analysis, ranging from heart rate, sleep quality scores, to Daily Cardio Load and fitness index. Users also get extra peace of mind through Samsung Care+ protection, which provides guaranteed accidental damage repair and expert support services.
