The Regional Secretary of South Kalimantan Province, H. M. Syarifuddin, conducted a working visit to the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) athlete training complex of South Kalimantan, located in the Landasan Ulin area, Banjarbaru, on Thursday (9/7/2026). This visit aimed to directly review the effectiveness of the training programs and facilities provided for athletes with disabilities.
Accompanied by the Head of the Youth and Sports Department of South Kalimantan Province, Febriadin Hafiz, Regional Secretary Syarifuddin took the time to converse with the coaches and directly try out the sports facilities, including the archery and shooting disciplines. On this occasion, he expressed his admiration for the training complex, which was built independently by NPC South Kalimantan.
According to Syarifuddin, NPC South Kalimantan's independence in providing facilities such as athlete dormitories, secretariats, and training arenas is an outstanding achievement that other regions should emulate. The presence of these representative facilities is considered a key factor in South Kalimantan's consistency in maintaining its position in the top 10 medal tally at national-level disability sports events.
In addition to highlighting national achievements, the Regional Secretary also provided moral support to the NPC South Kalimantan athletes scheduled to represent the Indonesian contingent in an international competition in Japan this coming October. He hoped that the spirit of discipline and hard work shown by the athletes during their training would lead to optimal results on the global stage.
The Chairman of NPC South Kalimantan, Sumansyah, expressed his appreciation for the provincial government's attention, which is seen as a motivational boost for all administrators and athletes. It is hoped that the strong synergy between the government and disability organizations will be sustained to ensure the continuous development of high-achieving athletes capable of bringing honor to Banua and Indonesia.
