Two students from MIN 5 Demak successfully recorded brilliant achievements in the 2026 Demak District-level National Student Sports Olympiad (O2SN). The competition, organized by the Demak District Education and Culture Office, served as a platform for the madrasah students to prove their talent.
Rifqi Putra Nurdyanto managed to secure the 2nd Place title in the Men's Pencak Silat Single Empty-Handed category. A similar achievement was attained by his peer, Shakila Atmarini Rahardi, who successfully secured the 3rd Place position in the Women's Pencak Silat category in the same division.
The Head of MIN 5 Demak, Samsul Hadi, expressed his deep appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the two students. According to him, this success is not only a source of pride for the madrasah but also proof that madrasah students possess high competitiveness in both academic and non-academic fields.
"This achievement is expected to spark motivation for Rifqi and Shakila to continue honing their skills, looking forward to greater challenges at the provincial and national levels. We remain committed to facilitating the development of students' interests and talents so they can achieve success while building a resilient character," said Samsul Hadi in an official statement.
Furthermore, Samsul emphasized that the martial art of pencak silat was chosen as one of the flagship extracurricular activities because it instills noble values such as discipline, courage, and sportsmanship. The integration of character values and physical skills aligns with MIN 5 Demak's vision to produce an outstanding generation with noble character (akhlakul karimah) and high competitiveness in society.
