Dominance in play was demonstrated by the Balen District football team in the final match of the 2026 Bojonegoro Regency Sports Week (Porkab) II. Facing Ngraho District at Letjen H. Soedirman Stadium on Tuesday (7/7/2026), Balen successfully locked in a convincing victory with a final score of 3-0.
From the opening whistle of the first half, the Balen squad played aggressively, launching continuous attacks at the opponent's defense line. The attacking strategy implemented proved effective in dismantling Ngraho's defense while securing first place in the most prestigious sport of this regency-level sports event.
Vice Chairman of KONI Bojonegoro Regency, Tonny Ade Irawan, confirmed that Ngraho won the silver medal, while bronze medals were awarded to teams from Baureno District and Kepohbaru District. The policy of awarding two bronze medals was based on high enthusiasm and participation, with the football event involving 16 district contingents.
"In accordance with Porkab regulations, for event categories with 15 or more participants, we establish a joint third place. We adjusted this mechanism so that appreciation for the athletes remains proportional to the level of competition in each discipline," Tonny explained.
On the other hand, the medal tally race for the overall championship title of Porkab II Bojonegoro remains intense. Up to now, Kota Bojonegoro District still leads the standings with 118 points. This position is closely pursued by Dander District and Kapas District in second and third place, respectively.
Although several sports branches such as basketball, karate, and badminton have concluded their matches, the standings dynamics may still change. A number of events remain scheduled until the closing ceremony on Friday (10/7/2026), including athletics, kickboxing, and MMA. The Porkab II event itself involves 3,553 athletes from 28 districts competing across 27 sports disciplines.
