Telkomsel has once again strengthened its global presence after successfully bringing home two prestigious awards at the TM Forum Digital Transformation World (DTW) Ignite 2026 event held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on June 23-25, 2026. This achievement is clear proof of the company's commitment to adopting artificial intelligence (AI) to improve service quality and network resilience.
In the event, the state-owned telecommunications company won an award in the 'Excellence in People, Profit, and Planet' category. The award was presented for the innovative development of the 'Early Warning System Driving Sustainable Business Continuity', an AI-based early warning system capable of detecting potential disasters earlier. Through the integration of internal and external data, this system has helped send millions of emergency notifications to people in hundreds of cities across Indonesia.
In addition to this award, Telkomsel was also honored with the title of 'Catalyst Innovator' with a Visionary distinction. Telkomsel's IT Director, Joyce Shia, emphasized that this achievement is the result of the company's commitment to building a strong data foundation and integrated systems. According to her, the responsible use of AI is not just about operational efficiency, but about how technology can create wider digital inclusivity for society.
On the network infrastructure side, Telkomsel also made history as the first operator in Indonesia to achieve 'Autonomous Network Level 4 Alpha Validation' from TM Forum. This technology allows the company's network to autonomously detect disruptions before they widely impact customers. Telkomsel's Network Director, Indra Mardiatna, explained that this step was taken to ensure resilient and reliable digital connectivity for users amid the continuously surging demand for data.
Telkomsel's participation in DTW Ignite 2026, which was attended by more than 5,000 global industry players, is seen as a strategic move to strengthen national competitiveness in the international market. With its 4G network now covering 97 percent of the population and its leadership in 5G technology development, Telkomsel continues to strive to solidify its position as a digital transformation pioneer capable of meeting future challenges through sustainable innovation.
