The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of Ca Mau Province organized an intensive two-day training course for school health personnel and managers of local clean water supply stations. The program was specifically designed to strengthen the professional capacity of grassroots officers in dealing with environmental health challenges and child injury mitigation.
Led directly by Dr. Huynh Thanh Su, Head of the Department of Environmental Health, School Health, and Occupational Diseases at the Ca Mau CDC, participants were provided with essential knowledge. The training focused on clean water management, environmental sanitation, proactive adaptation to the impacts of climate change, emergency handling of environmental issues, and disease outbreak control strategies.
In addition to environmental issues, the training paid special attention to improving practical first-aid skills. Healthcare workers were trained to respond swiftly to emergency accident cases, including preventive measures and initial management of drowning incidents, which frequently threaten the safety of children in the region.
During his presentation, Dr. Huynh Thanh Su explained that this agenda was not merely a theoretical update, but an interactive discussion space for participants to share real-world challenges in the field. Through this synergy, the Ca Mau CDC and the Dam Doi Commune Health Station hope that coordination among the health sector, schools, and local agencies can run more effectively to sustainably improve the quality of public healthcare services.
