BALIKPAPAN – As a form of care for public health, Astra Motor Kaltim 1, in synergy with the Manggar Community Health Center (Puskesmas), held a mentoring activity at the Mawar Merah Posyandu, Jalan Selili RT 41, Manggar Sub-district, East Balikpapan. This step is a concrete manifestation of the company's social contribution through the 'AM Health' program pillar to safeguard the growth and development of the younger generation.
A total of 31 children under five years old (toddlers) accompanied by their parents participated in a comprehensive health check-up program. The examination agenda included weight measurement, child growth and development evaluation, health education, and counseling on balanced nutritious diets guided by Agnes Irene Rau, a medical officer from the Manggar Puskesmas, along with local posyandu cadres.
To encourage residents and meet children's nutritional needs, Astra Motor Kaltim 1 also distributed highly nutritious healthy food packages. The Head of RT 41 Manggar Sub-district, Kartiah, expressed deep appreciation for this sustainable initiative. According to her, the involvement of the private sector can increase the enthusiasm of residents to monitor child growth and development regularly.
On the other hand, Agnes Irene Rau emphasized the importance of the posyandu (integrated health post) as the front line in the early detection of health problems in toddlers, including the prevention of stunting cases. She assessed that multi-stakeholder collaboration like this is very crucial in raising public awareness about the importance of nutrition fulfillment and basic health check-ups from an early age.
The Regional Head of Astra Motor Kaltim 1, Thomas Pradu, stated that his party is committed to continuing to invest in the nation's future through fulfilling children's health. Astra Motor hopes that this mentoring program can run sustainably with the local government so that health services become more inclusive and equitable for all levels of society.
