The Regent of Kepulauan Meranti, AKBP (Ret.) H. Asmar, paid a direct visit to the Dorak Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Selatpanjang on Friday (31/7/2026). The purpose of this visit was to check on one of the local community figures, H. Katan, along with several other residents undergoing medical treatment, while also ensuring the quality of health services at the facility.
During the inspection, H. Asmar took the time to walk through the treatment rooms to greet patients directly. The Regent engaged in a warm dialogue with the patients' families, listened to updates on their health conditions, and provided moral encouragement so that the patients remain spirited and optimistic during their recovery period.
Asmar emphasized that the presence of the local government is not merely manifested through regulations on paper, but through real care that touches the community directly. He hopes this direct attention can provide psychological comfort to residents who are currently fighting to recover.
During the visit, the Regent also held discussions with the management team of RSUD Dorak. Asmar instructed that service standards continue to be improved, especially regarding the friendliness of medical staff and the speed and accuracy of patient handling. According to him, humane and professional service is the main key to meeting the community's basic needs.
Accompanying the Regent on this visit were Member of the Kepulauan Meranti Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Jonny Katan, Acting Director of RSUD Dorak Romi Haris Nanda, and Head of the Protocol and Leadership Communication Section (Prokopim) Afrinal Yusran. The visit, which took place in a warm family atmosphere, received positive appreciation from the patients and local healthcare workers.
