SAMARINDA – In an effort to improve the health standards of the community and workers, PT PLN Indonesia Power Generation Business Unit (UBP) Mahakam, through the Karang Asam Diesel Power Plant (PLTD) Unit, organized a free health screening social service. This medical initiative was organized in collaboration with the Wonorejo Public Health Center (UPTD Puskesmas) of Samarinda City as a concrete step to encourage a healthy lifestyle from an early stage.

This free healthcare program prioritized initial screening and early detection of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) risk. A number of potential chronic health issues, such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and cardiovascular disease risks, were the primary focus of the examination. Through this early prevention, the risk of severe complications is expected to be minimized, thereby maintaining the community's quality of life.

During the event, participants, including company employees and local residents, had access to comprehensive medical consultations. In addition to blood pressure checks and accurate blood sugar monitoring, the public also received education on the importance of implementing a balanced lifestyle. The high enthusiasm of the participants reflects a growing collective awareness of the crucial importance of regular health screenings.

Manager of PT PLN Indonesia Power UBP Mahakam, Syafi'i, emphasized that the company's operational reliability is closely linked to prime physical conditions. According to him, the physical readiness of workers and the health of residents surrounding the power plant unit are key factors in supporting sustainable productivity and occupational safety.

Through this social action, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Mahakam reaffirms its commitment to continue strengthening synergy with various parties in launching social and environmental responsibility programs. In the future, various strategic initiatives in the health, education, environmental preservation, and community economic empowerment sectors will continue to be expanded to consistently realize social welfare.
