The population of Confucian adherents in Gunung Kidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, is recorded as very limited. Based on the latest data from the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs as of December 31, 2024, the number of citizens practicing the religion is only two people.
This figure shows statistical stability when compared to the records of the previous year. With the total population of Gunung Kidul Regency reaching 776.58 thousand people at the end of 2024, the percentage of Confucian adherents in the region stands at 0.00026 percent.
Compared to other regions in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province, the distribution of Confucian adherents in Gunung Kidul ranks third. Sleman Regency recorded the highest number of Confucian adherents with 31 people, followed by Yogyakarta City with 25 people.
Meanwhile, for other areas, Bantul Regency recorded one Confucian adherent, while Kulonprogo Regency recorded none or zero. This data provides an overview of the religious demographic diversity in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, which is still dominated by adherents of other religions.
