A major decision was made by Huynh Nguyen Anh Phuong, a new student from class K71 at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. To pursue her dream in Educational Technology (ED2), she was willing to leave her hometown in Can Tho and travel nearly 2,000 kilometers to the capital.
Before deciding on ED2, Phuong's academic track record actually opened many golden opportunities. She had received a full scholarship in technology and was accepted into various renowned IT programs. However, through deep self-reflection, she realized that her main passion was not just writing lines of code, but using technology to create a positive impact on education.
Unwilling to make a decision based on momentary impulses, Phuong spent a year doing in-depth research. She studied the curriculum, discussed with senior students, and consulted directly with lecturers in the relevant faculty. This dedication ultimately won the blessing of her parents, who were initially hesitant about the vast geographical distance.
The ED2 program she chose offers a unique curriculum combining engineering sciences such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and educational data with psychology and pedagogy. Phuong dreams of a future where technology can make classrooms more vibrant, such as taking students to explore history through VR or learn science through interactive games.
Now, as an ED2 student, she has a grand vision to become a designer of multimedia learning materials. To her, technology is not a replacement for teachers, but an instrument to expand access to knowledge and inspire the younger generation. With firm commitment, she hopes to contribute to the digital transformation of education in Vietnam so that every child has the opportunity for more enjoyable and meaningful learning.
