The Ciamis Regency Government, through the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) of the Sukadana District Health Center, held a systematic tuberculosis (TB) screening and free health check-ups for the community. The activity, which took place at the Sukadana Village Office Hall on Saturday (25/7/2026) morning, was also closely monitored by personnel from the Sukadana Sector Police (Polsek) to ensure the smooth running of the event.
A total of 80 local residents flocked to take advantage of this health service. The screening conducted included in-depth medical interviews regarding the early symptoms of TB—such as a prolonged cough lasting more than two weeks, fever, unexplained night sweats, and weight loss. In addition, medical officers also conducted general physical examinations, blood pressure measurements, and free blood sugar checks.
In addition to receiving instant medical diagnoses, the attending community members were also provided with education regarding the prevention of TB transmission. For residents showing indications or early symptoms of this lung disease, the medical team immediately prepared referrals to advanced health facilities to receive prompt and comprehensive treatment.
Sukadana Police Chief, IPTU Dayat Hidayat, stated that the presence of his personnel is a form of synergy between the police and health agencies in supporting community welfare. According to him, the Sukadana Sector Police is fully committed to maintaining security stability while also ensuring the success of social programs that directly impact improving the quality of life of residents in its jurisdiction.
This preventive step received a positive response from the people of Sukadana Village. Residents appreciated the ease of access to these free health services, while also feeling safer with the presence of police officers who kept the situation conducive throughout the execution of the activity.
