The management of SMA Negeri 1 Solok Selatan, West Sumatra, has taken firm action by suspending a physical education teacher with the initials VV (30) from teaching activities. This step was taken following reports regarding the sending of text messages with inappropriate narratives by the educator to several male students.

This suspension decision follows a protest held by students in the school yard last Monday (27/7/2026). During the demonstration, dozens of students urged the school to immediately dismiss the teacher, as the behavior was deemed to have violated teaching professional ethics. The incident also went viral on social media after screenshots of the conversations spread widely.

The Principal of SMAN 1 Solok Selatan, Mairisna, confirmed that the temporary suspension of VV was carried out to maintain stability and comfort in the school's teaching and learning process. She hopes this step can reduce the anxiety of students and parents so that academic activities can return to being conducive.

Mairisna also clarified various wild rumors circulating on social media. Based on the school's internal investigation, allegations regarding physical violence or physical sexual abuse were not proven at all. The evidence found so far is only in the form of digital documents containing unethical chat conversations with three 11th-grade students.

The case was first revealed after parents found the inappropriate conversations on their children's mobile phones. Although the alleged perpetrator reasoned that the messages were sent based on a close personal relationship like a younger sibling, the school deemed the action to have crossed the boundaries of a professional relationship between teacher and student.
