The Democratic Party Faction of the Mataram City Regional Legislative Council (DPRD), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), is committed to strengthening the local business ecosystem by encouraging the emergence of new entrepreneurs in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector. This strategic step is expected to create new jobs while accelerating an equitable economic recovery for the community.
The Chairperson of the Democratic Party Faction of the Mataram City DPRD, Hj Shinta Primasari, emphasized the importance of the presence of new MSMEs as a supporting pillar for the welfare of citizens. One concrete example currently being promoted is a mobile coffee business called Kopi Darat Maju dan Mapan (Kopdar 78). The presence of this startup is considered successful in opening up new job opportunities in the region.
"Kopdar 78 is a concrete example of how a micro-enterprise can drive the economic wheels from upstream to downstream. In fact, the assembly of their vending carts utilizes the services of local blacksmiths in the Babakan area of Mataram City," said Shinta on the sidelines of the socialization of the Bale Mediasi regulations in Mataram, Monday (27/7/2026).
Although it has only been running for three months, the business has grown rapidly, now operating five carts. In addition, the management of Kopdar 78 has also started to offer a franchise partnership system to provide opportunities for Mataram residents who want to run independent businesses.
The owner of Kopdar 78, H Ali Fikri, aims to increase the fleet to 12 carts by the end of July 2026. The main goal of this expansion is to engage school dropouts so they can have productive activities and their own income. To guarantee quality, this business has also obtained the MUI halal certificate and the Home Industry Food (PIRT) permit.
Offering seven flavor variants at affordable prices ranging from IDR 7,500 to IDR 15,000 per cup, Kopdar 78 records an average sale of 50 cups per cart daily. Through this business model, it is hoped that the entrepreneurial motivation among the Mataram community will continue to rise to help reduce the unemployment rate.
