PT Sharp Electronics Indonesia has once again demonstrated its commitment to environmental conservation by planting 600 endemic rasamala (Altingia excelsa) tree seedlings in the Javan Hawk-Eagle Sanctuary area of the Mount Halimun Salak National Park, Bogor. This initiative is the realization of the 'Sharp Run for the Future' program, which carries the concept of '1 Runner = 1 Tree', in collaboration with Hutan Itu Indonesia and Postinc.
President Director of PT Sharp Electronics Indonesia, Shinji Teraoka, emphasized that this step is a manifestation of the company's philosophy of integrating sustainability into every aspect of its business. He hopes this action will trigger collective awareness among both corporations and the wider community to care more about the health of the earth.
Ecologically, the 600 trees planted across an area of 2.4 hectares are projected to absorb up to 180 tons of carbon emissions per year and produce a significant amount of oxygen. The presence of these trees is expected to strengthen the forest ecosystem and maintain the crucial water cycle for the survival of the Javan Hawk-Eagle, a species currently classified as endangered.
In addition to planting, Sharp also provided field equipment support for the Eagle Sanctuary management team and organized conservation education sessions. PR & Brand Communication Department Head of PT Sharp Electronics Indonesia, Pandu Setio, stated that this activity proves that brand activation can have a tangible impact on forest restoration in Indonesia.
The event was also attended by Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2026, Vicky Kosasie, who advised the younger generation to remain proactive in taking simple steps to preserve nature for a better future.
