The Mayor of Malang, Wahyu Hidayat, officially highlighted the importance of strengthening the development ecosystem for roller sports in Malang City. During the inauguration of the new board of the Indonesian Roller Sports Association (Perserosi) of Malang City for the 2025–2029 period at the Savana Hotel on Tuesday (7/7/2026), Wahyu emphasized that the new board must be able to deliver transparent and adaptive organizational governance.

Wahyu stressed that athlete development should not focus solely on winning medals. For him, building a strong end-to-end system—starting from early childhood talent identification, increasing coach capacity, to referee development—is the main key to producing athletes who are not only high-achieving but also possess disciplined and sportsmanlike characters.

As part of the 'Malang Mbois and Classy' vision, the Malang City Government is committed to building collaborative synergies involving the education sector, the business sector, and the community. This cross-sectoral synergy is expected to create an inclusive development movement, allowing roller sports to grow sustainably in society.

Furthermore, Wahyu invited the board to continuously innovate programs oriented towards athlete regeneration. He is optimistic that through solid organizational management and strategic partnerships, Perserosi Malang City will be able to produce outstanding talents ready to compete and bring honor to the region on both national and international stages.
