The Tangerang City Government is fully committed to the success of the sports championship series scheduled to take place throughout August 2026. This strategic step is taken to strengthen the city's image as a sports destination (sport city), sports tourism (sport tourism), and sports entertainment (sportainment) at the regional and international levels.
The Head of the Youth and Sports Office (Dispora) of Tangerang City, Kaonang, invites all levels of society to participate in enlivening and making the various tournaments a success. He expressed his appreciation to all parties and promoters who have trusted Tangerang City to host this prestigious sports competition.
To support the smooth running of all events, Dispora ensures the readiness of the infrastructure and facilities that will be used during the matches. Kaonang emphasized that all supporting sports facilities have been optimally prepared so that athletes can compete to their maximum potential safely.
The series of sports events this month will open with the Dhilon Championship Series 2 futsal tournament on August 8-12 at GOR Gondrong, Cipondoh. Furthermore, martial arts enthusiasts will be treated to an international boxing championship, the IBOCS Universe 2026, which will also take place at GOR Gondrong on August 14-17.
Entering the final week of August, it is the archery branch's turn to show its prowess through the DAQU Archery Championship open tournament on August 22-23 at the DFS Archery Arena, Cipondoh. The series of sports events will then be concluded with the exclusive golf championship, the Tangerang Mayor Cup II, scheduled to take place at the Modern Golf & Country Club on August 27, 2026.
