The Kediri Regency Government officially launched the Agricultural Technology and Innovation Exhibition (Gertek) 2026, held in Bulusari Village, Tarokan District. The week-long event, running from July 6 to 12, is a tangible manifestation of Regent Hanindhito Himawan Pramana's commitment to boosting farmers' competitiveness through the use of modern technology.
This year's event is on a much larger scale than in previous years, involving more than 77 companies from the seed, fertilizer, pesticide, and banking sectors. The presence of these strategic partners aims to make it easier for farmers to access various efficient production needs and open doors to capital for agricultural business development.
Under the theme "Modern Agriculture for Sustainable Food Self-Sufficiency", the program involves a total of 14,000 farmers. About 6,000 of them are participating in a series of farmers' meetings divided into 150 intensive learning classes. This step was taken as a concrete effort to support national food security while comprehensively improving farmers' welfare.
The Regional Secretary of Kediri Regency, Mohamad Solikin, emphasized that Gertek 2026 is not just an exhibition, but an educational platform for farmers, especially the younger generation, to adopt technological advancements. This is also supported by the distribution of sustainable aid in the form of superior seeds and various modern agricultural machinery distributed throughout 2025 and 2026.
The Director of Horticultural Seedlings at the Ministry of Agriculture, Tommy Nugraha, appreciated this initiative and assessed that Kediri Regency has very strong agrarian potential. He emphasized that current field challenges can be well resolved as long as there is synergy between appropriate technology and the readiness of farmers to implement it.
