The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) emphasized that the excellence of human resources (HR) is the primary determinant of Indonesia's position on the global technology stage. Amid the rapid development of artificial intelligence and shifting industrial structures, the mastery of digital talent is considered more crucial than the mere provision of physical infrastructure.
Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, stated that Indonesia must immediately transform from being a mere consumer of technology to a creator of innovation. According to him, the ability to enter the global technology development value chain is an absolute requirement for the nation's competitiveness to remain relevant in the future.
In an effort to accelerate this target, the government relies on strategic collaboration with various universities across the country. Universities are seen as epicenters capable of linking industrial needs with government policies through innovative programs, such as the AI Talent Factory initiative targeting students in various regions.
Furthermore, Nezar emphasized that the development of this competence is not limited to the technical side alone. Future digital talents also need to be equipped with a deep understanding of the geopolitics of technology and global digital economic changes in order to adapt to more complex challenges.
