The National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) has officially expanded its collaboration network by signing memorandums of understanding (MoU) and cooperation agreements (PKS) with various institutions. This strategic step was taken as a concrete effort to build a more comprehensive and sustainable sports ecosystem for athletes in the DIY region.
The signing ceremony, which took place at the KONI DIY Office on Friday (3/7), involved various sectors, ranging from universities, health facilities, to media and digital technology. Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) became one of the strategic partners involved in this cooperation, alongside health institutions such as RSPAU dr. S. Hardjolukito, Siloam Hospitals, and the Queen Latifa Hospital Group.
The General Chairperson of KONI DIY, K.G.P.A.A. Paku Alam X, emphasized that achieving sporting success cannot be done in isolation. According to him, collective synergy involving various parties is needed, ranging from the discipline of athletes, the dedication of coaches, to the support of related institutions that often work behind the scenes to ensure success in the arena.
Paku Alam X also outlined the crucial roles of these partners. The health sector is expected to optimize fitness and accelerate athlete recovery, while the education sector serves as a platform for human resource capacity development. Additionally, the involvement of the digital technology sector is expected to facilitate more accurate sports data and information management.
Great hopes are placed on this cooperation to go beyond mere administrative formalities. KONI DIY is committed to translating the points of agreement into tangible and measurable programs, thereby creating an inclusive sports environment and improving the achievements of DIY athletes, both nationally and internationally.
