BOJONEGORO – The Bojonegoro Regency Government (Pemkab), through the Youth and Sports Agency (Dinpora), remains committed to facilitating the interest of the younger generation in motorsports. This commitment was realized through the hosting of the prestigious "Road Race 2026" motorcycle racing event, initiated by the Bojonegoro Motor Association (IMB) at the Non-Permanent Circuit of Bojonegoro Regency Square on Sunday (2/8/2026).
This annual event, joined by hundreds of riders from various parts of East Java, was also held to celebrate the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. In addition to serving as a platform for healthy competition, the championship acts as public entertainment and a structured development space for regional athletes.
Opening the event, the Head of the Bojonegoro Regency Youth and Sports Agency, Arif Nanang, expressed his appreciation for the participants' enthusiasm. He emphasized that this race is not merely a speed contest on the track, but an important tool for shaping a young generation characterized by discipline, sportsmanship, and responsibility.
Arif also reminded the riders to prioritize safety riding throughout the competition. The Bojonegoro Regency Government hopes that this circuit will nurture young talents capable of bringing pride to the region on national and international stages. Full support has been promised to ensure the sustainability of development for this competitive sport.
Beyond the race track, the presence of thousands of spectators crowding the circuit provided an immediate economic impact for the surrounding community. Local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) setting up stalls around the Square reported a significant increase in turnover thanks to the influx of visitors coming to watch the races.
This year's competition featured various classes, ranging from 4-stroke 130 cc and 150 cc underbone (bebek) motorcycles, both standard and modified (tune-up), to 2-stroke 116 cc and 125 cc underbone classes. Interestingly, the committee also introduced a special Mini GP class for children aged 8 to 10 years as part of a structured effort to scout promising young riders from an early age.
