Perumdam Tirta Kencana Samarinda City has announced plans for periodic maintenance at the Gunung Lipan Water Treatment Plant (IPA) on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. This step includes flushing silt deposits and a water settling process to maintain the reliability of the treatment facilities. During this process, the distribution of clean water to several areas in Samarinda will experience temporary disruptions.
According to the official schedule from management, this technical work will begin at 08:00 WITA with an estimated completion time of about 10 hours. During this period, the water supply to customers' homes in the affected areas will be completely shut off until the entire cleaning process is completed.
Some of the areas affected by the water supply shutdown include Harapan Baru Village, Cipto Mangunkusumo Road, Bung Tomo Road, Pelita Road, H.A.M. Rifaddin Road, to K.H. Harun Nafsi Road. In addition, distribution disruptions are also expected in Tani Aman Village, Barito Road and surrounding areas, the APT Pranoto Airport area, and parts of RE Martadinata Road.
Assistant Public Relations Manager of Perumdam Tirta Kencana Samarinda, Haidir Fadli, emphasized that this maintenance is crucial to maintain the quality of water distributed to the public. Sedimentation deposits that accumulate in the reservoir must be cleaned regularly so that water production capacity remains optimal and hygienic.
In anticipation of this situation, Perumdam urges residents in the affected areas to store enough clean water before the maintenance process begins. The management is also committed to accelerating the work in the field so that the water flow can gradually return to normal once the maintenance is completed.
