PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) is now implementing state-of-the-art construction technology standards on the Pekanbaru Ring Road Toll Road construction project. Through the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems up to 7D level, the company strives to integrate all project phases, from planning, technical execution in the field, cost management, to post-construction asset maintenance.
HKI Corporate Secretary, Resnu Aditya Wuladarman, explained that the utilization of BIM in this project goes beyond standard three-dimensional visualization. Covering aspects from 2D to 7D, this system consolidates critical information into a single interconnected digital model. This approach allows the project team to perform early design conflict detection, accelerate decision-making, and improve accuracy at every stage of work.
In addition to BIM, HKI implements a Common Data Environment (CDE) as a central digital project document management hub accessible in *real-time*. This system ensures all relevant parties use uniform data, thereby significantly reducing the risk of errors due to document desynchronization. This technological synergy is further reinforced by the use of drone-based photogrammetry surveys for precise work volume data verification.
As of late June 2026, the construction progress of the Pekanbaru Ring Road Toll Road has reached 77 percent. With the support of an integrated digital ecosystem, the developer is optimistic that this strategic infrastructure project can be completed on target by February 2027.
