Mount Anak Krakatau, located in the waters of the Sunda Strait, South Lampung, has once again shown an increase in seismic activity. Based on the latest monitoring data from the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG), the dynamics of volcanic activity at the volcano have prompted authorities to adjust the alert status.
To ensure public safety, the geological agency strictly advises all members of the public, including fishermen and tourists, not to engage in any activities within a three-kilometer radius of the active crater. This preventive measure was taken in response to the potential hazard of incandescent material ejection and hot clouds that could occur at any time due to magma pressure fluctuations within the crater.
Authorities continue to conduct intensive monitoring through field observation posts to track any recorded seismic shifts.
