A warm atmosphere filled the courtyard of the TVRI West Sumatra office in Padang City on Tuesday night (7/7/2026). Hundreds of residents crowded the area to watch the crucial 2026 World Cup round of 16 match between the national teams of Argentina and Egypt on a big screen.
This public screening (nobar) attracted not only the general public, but was also attended by several high-ranking regional officials. Regional Secretary (Sekda) of West Sumatra Province, Arry Yuswandi, was seen mingling with the crowd. He was accompanied by officials from the West Sumatra Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), Vice Mayor of Padang Maigus Nasir, and Head of the West Sumatra Ombudsman Representative Office, Adel Wahidi.
On the occasion, Arry Yuswandi stated that football has become an inseparable part of community life. According to him, the sport possesses extraordinary power to unite people of all ages and backgrounds in wholesome entertainment.
The event served as a platform for football enthusiasts in Padang to collectively enjoy the euphoria of the international competition. Despite the high intensity of the match, the atmosphere during the watch party remained peaceful and full of joy until the final whistle.
