Starting the first week of the new 2026/2027 school year, KUB Muhammadiyah Purworejo Elementary School immediately recorded a brilliant achievement. A number of students from this elementary school successfully brought home various medals from regional sports competitions held recently.
The Principal of KUB Muhammadiyah Purworejo Elementary School, Sutrisno, expressed his pride in the extraordinary achievements of his students. According to him, this achievement at the beginning of the school year is a special gift for the entire school community while also proving that character development is not only focused on academic fields.
In his statement on Monday (3/8/2026), the school detailed a number of gold and silver medals won in several swimming events. These included five gold medals in breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle, as well as two silver medals in backstroke.
Meanwhile, in athletics, a second-grade student named Aruna Mishall Almahyra achieved success as the 2nd Place winner in the Girls' Formula One (ages 7–8) and 3rd Place in the Girls' 40-Meter Run at the PGRI Purworejo Kids Athletics event held on August 1, 2026. In archery, the boys' team of Muhammad Ahsan Hasif, Muhammad Ahsan Rifqy, and Muhammad Abyan Cahya Sauqi successfully took third place in the Latber Perpani Purworejo. Other archery achievements were contributed by Afkar Fatih Mujahid as the 2nd Place winner in the Boys' 5-Meter Team, and Arsyila Maulida Cahya Putri as the 3rd Place winner in the Girls' 10-Meter Team.
Equally proud, in roller skating, Naufal Maulana Fachrudin and Adiwitya Janitra Putri won 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, at the Artos Skate Fest Championship 2026 tournament held at the end of last July. Sutrisno hopes that this winning momentum can boost the motivation of all students to continue honing their potential in the future.
