Famous presenter Ruben Onsu has finally given a straightforward response regarding rumors claiming his ex-wife, Sarwendah, was involved in pesugihan rituals at Mount Kawi. The clarification was delivered by Ruben while appearing as a guest on a podcast with Nanda Persada, uploaded on Monday (7/6/2026).
Nanda Persada, known to have served as Sarwendah's manager since the beginning of her solo career in 2013, brought up the issue at the 33rd minute of the conversation. Ruben emphasized his position in handling the negative narrative that has recently circulated widely in the public sphere.
This issue previously surfaced after a video featuring an interaction between Pesulap Merah (Red Magician) and a Mount Kawi caretaker (kuncen) circulated widely. In the video, the caretaker made a statement mentioning Sarwendah's name as a public figure who allegedly visited the religious tourism area.
It is worth noting that Mount Kawi, located in Wonosari Village, Malang Regency, has long been known as a pilgrimage destination. The complex is the final resting place of two respected figures, namely Eyang Jugo and Raden Mas Iman Soedjono, often visited by pilgrims for various personal purposes.
Through his statement on the podcast, Ruben attempted to quell the growing public speculation. As someone with a close history and deep understanding of his ex-wife's life, Ruben chose to take a firm stance in setting the record straight regarding the baseless information.
