Pertamina Patra Niaga has ensured that the distribution of subsidized fuel (BBM) in the East Java region has returned to a conducive state. This step was taken following intensive monitoring conducted alongside the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) to ensure targeted energy distribution.
Executive General Manager of Jatimbalinus Region at Pertamina Patra Niaga, Iwan Yudha Wibawa, explained that his party has accelerated distribution after vehicle queues occurred at several gas stations in recent days. Field monitoring involving the Directorate General of Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Ombudsman has been conducted simultaneously since early July 2026.
Head of BPH Migas, Wahyudi Anas, revealed that the long queues on strategic routes such as Surabaya to Gresik have now eased. This condition was previously triggered by a significant surge in logistics activities from the Port of Tanjung Perak, combined with increased public mobility during the school holiday period.
To respond to the high demand, Pertamina implemented special operational strategies, including operating tank trucks 24 hours a day and optimizing supply transfer schemes from the nearest fuel terminals. This step is prioritized at crucial points, such as gas stations on the Surabaya-Gempol Toll Road and the Tambak Langon industrial area.
In addition to accelerating supply, the management is also coordinating with the local Transportation Agency and traffic police (Satlantas) to ensure that queues at gas stations do not obstruct the flow of public traffic. Pertamina urges the public to remain calm and wise in energy consumption, while guaranteeing that fuel stocks at all terminals and gas stations in East Java are in a safe condition.
