Regent of Gunung Mas, Jaya S. Monong, officially expressed his appreciation and full support for the formation of the new Kalimantan Evangelical Church (GKE) Synod Board for the 2026–2031 period. This leadership transition is the outcome of the 25th GKE General Synod Assembly, which was successfully held in Puruk Cahu, Murung Raya Regency, from July 7 to 11, 2026.

In his statement in Kuala Kurun, Jaya S. Monong emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration between the church and all stakeholders. He expressed hope that the board, led by Rev. John Asihua as General Chairperson, will bring a renewed spirit to serving the congregation wholeheartedly and strengthening synergy from local to national levels.

The Regent also urged all members of the GKE congregation to close ranks and give their full support to the elected leaders. A spirit of fellowship and spiritual values are considered the core foundation for maintaining stability and advancing church ministry programs in the future.

Furthermore, the Gunung Mas Regency Government demonstrated concrete commitment by sending a delegation of 112 people to ensure the success of the five-yearly event. The presence of this delegation serves as tangible proof of the region's active participation in supporting major religious events in Central Kalimantan.

On the other hand, Rev. John Asihua, as the elected General Chairperson, committed to carrying on the leadership baton by maintaining strategic programs initiated by the previous leadership under Rev. Simpon F. Lion. The main focus moving forward is to ensure that church ministry remains relevant in addressing current challenges and capable of meeting the spiritual needs of congregants throughout the GKE service area.
