The Regent of Jember, Muhammad Fawait, received a visit from the management and athletes of Persaid, the region's pride amputee football club, at the Pendapa Wahyawibawagraha on Monday (6/7/2026). This meeting served as an event to appreciate Persaid's brilliant achievements, which have positioned Jember as a key barometer for amputee football in East Java, and even at the national level.
During the audience session, it was revealed that the quality of Jember's athletes has gained global recognition. One of the key players, Mas Bahir, even achieved an impressive milestone by pursuing a career in a professional Turkish football club, thanks to his impressive ball skills.
Responding to these achievements, Regent Fawait reaffirmed the government's commitment to eliminating all forms of discrimination in access to public services, particularly in the sports sector. He ensured that every athlete, without exception, has the same right to receive full attention and support from the Jember Regency Government.
As a concrete step, Fawait has instructed relevant government agencies to strengthen coordination between Persaid, the Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora), and the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) to ensure that athlete development can run more systematically and sustainably.
In addition, the Jember Regency Government is committed to providing full logistical support for the Persaid team's departure to a competition in Jakarta. This support includes the provision of comfortable transportation, official team uniforms, and other operational needs to guarantee the athletes' maximum performance on the field.
